Mr. Tun Fendy Unggul is the Chairman and Director of SMM Capital Group since 2010. On top of his position in SMM Capital Group, he is also the President Director of PT.Bintang Morowali Sejahtera, Chairman of the Board of PT.Trasco Jaya Mineral, Chief Executive Officer /Executive Director of PT.Sulawesi Motor Sejahtera, President Director of PT.Makassar Sukses Sejahtera, Member of Board of Director of PT.Primastian Metal Prima, Commissioner of PT.Cherindo Lamda Sejahtera, the President Director of Indo Bangun Mitra Perkasa and the major shareholder of PT.Sulawesi Multi Molindo. For the past 35 years, he has led his businesses on a steady path of diversification and globalisation through organic growth and timely strategic reviews and reorganisations at appropriate junctures in order to maximise value and returns for shareholders.
With roots in Makassar, the SMM Capital Group’s businesses now span the regions, encompassing such diverse areas as mining, automotive, engineering, heavy equipment, investments, manufacturing, trading, construction, property development and project management. Mr. Tun Fendy Unggul is a strong believer in synergy-the power of combined efforts. This belief is reflected in his naming his company PT. Sulawesi Multi Molindo and PT.Sulawesi Multi Mitra after the vibrant province of Sulawesi in East Indonesia, a great region that aggregates countless streams of resources.
SMM Capital Group is on the expansion mode towards establishing as one of the key players in Indonesia, with solid professional teams.
The SMM Foundation was established in 2024 with a focus on education for the children with special needs and anti-poverty programmes. To underscore the importance of the Foundation, Mr Tun Fendy Unggul contributes part of the profitability from his businesses accordingly to the Foundation; he called for a paradigm shift in Asia’s culture of giving, encouraging greater individual philanthropy towards social capital and sustainability to bring forth a more hopeful and promising future.
Mr. Tun Fendy Unggul holds his Bachelor of Economics from Atma Jaya University in Indonesia.
